QC Spa Monte Bianco

Near Pré-Saint-Didier, Aosta Valley, Italy

The spa of the QC Hotel Monte Bianco at Palleusieux, between Pré-Saint-Didier and Courmayeur. QC calls it a wellness circuit and names no thermal source, so treat it as a heated-water hotel spa, not a hot spring.

  • Not a hot spring: QC calls this a wellness circuit, while the real thermal water is at QC Pré Saint Didier, about 1.2 km (0.7 miles) down the road.
  • A small, quieter spa than Pré: QC's brochure lists 4 pools and 8 relaxation rooms.
  • A sauna chalet and outdoor pool in the garden face the Mont Blanc massif.
  • The 57-room QC Hotel Monte Bianco has direct access to the spa, and QC sells packages that include the Pré thermal baths too.

Hotel spa, not a hot spring

Two QC spas sit about 1.2 km (0.7 miles) apart in the municipality of Pré-Saint-Didier, and it is easy to mix them up. This page covers QC Spa Monte Bianco, the spa of the QC Hotel Monte Bianco at Palleusieux. The other one, QC Pré Saint Didier, is the historic thermal bathhouse in the village, and that is where the natural hot water is.

QC is careful with its own labels. Its page for the Pré bathhouse says the panoramic pools are fed with thermal water and calls the circuit a “percorso termale”. For Monte Bianco it uses “percorso benessere”, a wellness circuit, and names no spring or thermal source. We found nothing else that says the hotel spa uses spring water. Italy’s national tourism board describes the hotel as a place to enjoy “the pleasures of the thermal baths” and mentions shuttles to the thermal establishments, which points to Pré rather than to the hotel’s own pools. Treat Monte Bianco as a heated-water hotel spa with a very good view.

The hotel used to trade as QC Termemontebianco, and Booking.com still files it under an old name based on “QC Terme di Pré-Saint-Didier”, which adds to the confusion.

What to expect

The spa is part of a 4-star hotel on Route Mont Blanc, the road that climbs from Pré-Saint-Didier towards Courmayeur. QC’s French-language brochure counts 4 pools, 8 relaxation rooms and 14 wellness experiences, and describes a garden with a sensory pool and a “chalet sauna” looking at the mountains. QC’s current website counts 30 wellness practices, a different way of counting the same circuit. Either way, it is smaller and usually quieter than the Pré bathhouse, which counts 40.

The features QC names:

  • Vasca esterna: the outdoor pool, warm in winter and cool in summer, according to QC.
  • Vasca interna: the indoor pool with whirlpool jets and water jets.
  • Chalet Panoramico: a sauna built like a small mountain hut, with a view of the peaks.
  • Relax Cinema: a sauna with projections on the wall.
  • Biosauna Lavanda e Camomilla: a milder, scented sauna.
  • Stanza Ovetti and Sala Relax Slitte: relaxation rooms, one with egg-shaped loungers and one themed on sledges.

Entry includes the robe, towel and slippers. Unlike most QC spas, Monte Bianco does not include the free Aperiterme. QC instead offers the “Aperibianco”, a paid aperitif served daily from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Getting there

The address is Route Mont Blanc 28, Palleusieux, 11010 Pré-Saint-Didier. Palleusieux is a hamlet just north of Pré on the road up the valley.

  • From Aosta: follow the valley west on the SS26 past Morgex to Pré-Saint-Didier, then continue towards Courmayeur. Booking.com puts Aosta about half an hour’s drive away.
  • From Courmayeur: a short drive down the valley.
  • From France: come through the Mont Blanc Tunnel and down past Courmayeur.

The hotel lists free outdoor parking, and covered parking for some rooms. Italy’s tourism board says the hotel runs free shuttles to Courmayeur, the ski lifts and the thermal baths.

When to go

The spa is open every day from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. for day visitors. Hotel guests can use it from 8:30 a.m. The evening ticket starts at 4:30 p.m., earlier than at most QC sites, because the spa closes at 9 p.m.

Winter is the high season, with skiers from Courmayeur and La Thuile filling the hotel, and Christmas, New Year and February weekends are the busiest. Weekday mornings are quietest for day visitors. In summer the valley is busy with walkers and climbers, and the garden is at its best.

Prices and booking

QC publishes “from” prices that move with the date and demand. The 2026 list:

  • 5-hour entry: from €62
  • Unlimited day entry: from €72
  • Evening entry, from 4:30 p.m.: from €58
  • Entry with a 25, 50 or 75-minute massage: from €118, €162 and €212
  • Couples’ entry with a couples’ massage: from €236 for two

On the price per hour, the Pré bathhouse is usually the better deal for day visitors: it has a cheaper late-entry ticket, more practices, the free aperitif and the thermal water.

Rules shared across QC:

  • Booking is compulsory. No walk-ins. Arrive within 30 minutes of your slot.
  • A credit card guarantees the booking. You pay on site.
  • Age 14 and up, for hotel guests too.
  • No entry during pregnancy. Pregnant hotel guests can use the hotel but not the spa.
  • Swimsuit required. Robe, towel and slippers are provided.

Where to stay nearby

The obvious choice is the QC Hotel Monte Bianco itself. QC’s brochure lists 57 rooms with direct access to the spa, so you can walk down in your robe. Check-in is from 3 p.m. and check-out by 11 a.m. There is a gym, a restaurant and free Wi-Fi, but QC notes that the rooms have no air conditioning, which matters on the few hot summer nights. QC sells a “Double Wellness Experience” package: a night at the hotel plus entry to both this spa and the Pré thermal baths.

Otherwise, Pré-Saint-Didier village has small hotels within a short drive, Courmayeur has the widest choice of lodging and restaurants, and La Thuile is the other nearby ski base.

Safety notes

  • Altitude and cold. You are in the high Alps. Wrap up between the indoor and outdoor areas in winter, and take care on icy paths in the garden.
  • Winter driving. Carry chains or fit winter tyres from late autumn to spring.
  • Saunas and alcohol. Drink water between sauna rounds and do not use the heat after the aperitif or a big meal.
  • Health. Anyone with heart or blood pressure problems should check with a doctor before using saunas and hot pools.
