What to expect

QC Spa Roma, which most people still know as QC Termeroma, is a large day spa and hotel on the coastal plain west of Rome, between the city and the sea. It sits in the Oasi di Porto, a private nature estate by the basin of Trajan’s ancient harbour, next to Fiumicino airport. The spa occupies three historic buildings in an old garden. According to Dayuse, they date from the 1920s, when Prince Giovanni Torlonia reclaimed the surrounding farmland, and the estate lies on the Via Portuense, the road the Romans built to link the city with its port.

First, the water. This is not a hot spring. QC’s Rome pages talk about the imperial tradition of salus per aquam but name no thermal source, unlike its Bormio spas. The Dayuse listing says water from the aquifer is heated to 93-100°F34-38°C. Among QC’s Italian sites, only Bagni Nuovi and Bagni Vecchi in Bormio use naturally hot water. Rome belongs with the heated-water QC city spas, such as QC Spa Milano.

If you come knowing that, it is a pleasant place to spend a day or an evening. The circuit runs from the vaulted basements of the old buildings out into the park, and QC counts 36 “wellness practices” in total: pools, saunas, steam rooms and relaxation rooms.

The pools

The main features on QC’s wellness-path page:

  • Vasca della Lupa: a pool named after the Capitoline She-Wolf.
  • Vasca della Musica Subacquea: a pool with music played underwater.
  • Vasca Infinity: an outdoor infinity pool in the park. QC itself calls its water “fresh”, so do not expect it to be hot.
  • Caelum: a sauna styled as “the sky in a room”.
  • La Stanza dei Pensieri: a sauna inspired by a catamaran-shaped pavilion on the estate.
  • Sensory path, labyrinth and sauna: a barefoot garden route with cedar benches.
  • Sala delle Carrozze and Veranda degli Allori: two relaxation rooms.

QC does not publish the temperature of each pool.

Getting there

The address is Via Portuense 2178, 00054 Fiumicino. It is about 20 km (12 miles) from central Rome by road, according to Dayuse, and a short drive from the terminals at Leonardo da Vinci airport. From Rome, head toward the airport on the Roma-Fiumicino motorway or the old Via Portuense, then follow Via Portuense to the estate gate. The resort has its own car park.

Without a car, a taxi from the airport is the simplest option. QC advertises an airport shuttle; Dayuse says it runs only by reservation. That makes the spa a realistic way to fill a long layover, as long as you book both the slot and the transfer in advance.

When to go

The spa is open every day of the year, with long hours: 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, and to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Weekends and Italian public holidays sell out first. Evenings in summer are pleasant in the park; in winter, the indoor pools and saunas do most of the work, since the outdoor infinity pool is unheated by QC’s own description.

QC applies holiday pricing and rules on its list of long weekends and festivities; check that page before you book a date near Christmas, Easter or a bank holiday.

Prices and booking

QC publishes “from” prices that vary with demand. The 2026 list for Rome:

  • 5-hour entry: from €64
  • Unlimited day entry: from €78
  • Evening entry, from 5 p.m.: from €60
  • Late entry, from 7:30 p.m.: from €48
  • Entry with a 25, 50 or 75-minute massage: from €122, €166 and €216
  • Couples’ entry with a couples’ massage: from €244 for two

The ticket includes a robe, towel and slippers; the evening aperitif is included only with some ticket types. Bring your own swimsuit.

House rules shared across QC spas:

  • Booking is compulsory, with a 30-minute grace period on arrival.
  • One entry per ticket. No leaving and coming back.
  • Age 14 and up for day visitors. Hotel guests may bring children aged 5 and up, accompanied the whole time.
  • No entry during pregnancy.
  • No outside food. Meals can be added when you book.

Where to stay nearby

The QC Grand Hotel Roma is on the estate, and guests can walk to the spa in a robe. Small dogs are allowed in the rooms and outdoor areas but not in the spa. Otherwise, Fiumicino town and the airport area have plenty of hotels, and central Rome is about 20 km (12 miles) away.

Safety notes

  • Heat. Even at 93-100°F34-38°C, long soaks combined with saunas can make you light-headed. Drink water and take breaks.
  • Health questions. QC bars pregnant women. If you have a heart condition or high blood pressure, check with your doctor before using hot pools and saunas.

Nearby stops worth adding

The excavations of Ostia Antica, one of the best-preserved Roman towns near Rome, are a short drive south across the Tiber. QC also suggests bike rides, horse riding and kitesurfing on the nearby coast. For actual hot springs, head north to Viterbo: the free Bullicame and Piscine Carletti pools and the Terme dei Papi spa all use naturally hot sulphur water.
