What to expect
Glen Ivy Hot Springs is a big, busy day spa built around mineral springs at the foot of the Santa Ana Mountains in Temescal Valley, just south of Corona in Riverside County. Think of it as a garden resort with pools rather than a natural hot spring. You book a day pass, change, and spend the day moving between pools, loungers, mud and spa treatments.
The springs have been used commercially since 1860, and the current resort was incorporated in 1977. The property covers about 82 acres. The pools are spread across landscaped grounds with loungers, hammocks and rentable cabanas.
There are 19 pools and water features. They fall into two groups:
- Warm mineral pools at about 104°F40°C: the Mineral Baths, Saline Pool, Roman Bath, Vista Pool and Hot Pool.
- Cool pools at about 65°F18°C: the Lap Pool, used for water fitness classes, the North and South Pools and the Lounge Pool.
The two features that set Glen Ivy apart are Club Mud, where you scoop red clay from a pool, coat yourself and let it dry in the sun before rinsing, and The Grotto, a warm, cave-like room for body treatments. Saunas, steam rooms, a spa building with treatment rooms and outdoor massage pavilions fill out the site.
Weekend prices are higher for a reason: that is when the resort is busiest. Weekdays are calmer.

Every visit needs a reservation, made online or through Central Reservations at 888-453-6489, open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. You give each guest’s name, email and cell number plus a card.

Getting there
Glen Ivy is at 25000 Glen Ivy Road, Temescal Valley, CA 92883, off I-15 between Corona and Lake Elsinore. Leave I-15 in Temescal Valley, follow Temescal Canyon Road to Glen Ivy Road, and take Glen Ivy Road west toward the hills to the resort entrance.
It sits about 60 miles east of Long Beach and about 80 miles west of Palm Springs, so it works as a stop on a drive between the coast and the desert. Traffic on I-15 and the 91 can be heavy on weekday afternoons. Parking is free. Tailgating, eating, drinking and smoking are not allowed in the lot.
When to go
Glen Ivy is open all year from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with 9 a.m. early entry for members, some packages and guests with a 9:30 a.m. treatment. Evening sessions from 4 to 9 p.m. ran on set days from June to October in 2026. It closes on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day and shuts early on Christmas Eve.
Summer afternoons in Temescal Valley are hot, and the cool pools earn their keep. Spring and fall are the most comfortable seasons. Winter days are mild and good for the warm pools, though Club Mud dries slowly on a cool, cloudy day.
Rules and etiquette
- Adults only. Guests must be 18 or older with physical ID.
- Swimsuits at all times. Wear an older or darker suit for Club Mud, since the clay can stain.
- No outside food, alcohol or glass. Water bottles must come in empty and can be filled on site.
- No smoking or vaping anywhere, including the parking lot.
- No personal speakers. Headphones are fine.
- No recording wearables. Smart glasses and other devices that can record are banned.
- No re-entry. Once you leave, your day is over.
- Pregnancy: the resort asks pregnant guests to check with a doctor before using the warm pools or Club Mud.
Where to stay nearby
Glen Ivy has no lodging on site. The nearest hotels are in Corona, about 10 miles north, and Lake Elsinore, a short drive south on I-15. Riverside and Temecula are within about half an hour in light traffic, and Temecula’s wine country makes a good overnight pairing.
Safety notes
- Heat: The mineral pools are about 104°F40°C. Drink water between soaks, especially on summer days when air temperatures are also high.
- Sun: Much of the site is open lawn and pool deck. Use shade, a hat and sunscreen, and reserve a cabana if you burn easily.
- Slippery surfaces: Club Mud and wet decks are slick. Wear sandals with grip.
- Medical: If you are pregnant or have a heart condition, ask your doctor about hot pools first.
